An awareness programme on balanced use of fertilizers was conducted under MGMG (Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav) and Khet Bachao Abhiyaan Campaign at Umroi Madan village, Ri Bhoi district by Team 5 on 11th June, 2026. The programme was organized as part of the nationwide awareness campaign launched by ICAR. Twenty (20) farmers (male- 12; female- 8) participated in the programme. Farmers were sensitized about the importance of soil testing and soil health card for better soil management and encouraged to adopt green manuring, inclusion of legumes in the cropping systems, composting etc. as effective approaches for improving soil fertility and reducing dependence on chemical inputs for long-term environmental sustainability. Pig feed (1000 kg) was also distributed among the farmers.
