A field day was conducted by KVK Dimapur under the Cluster Frontline Demonstration (CFLD) on oilseeds to showcase the TS-38 Toria variety on 11/2/2025. Held in the field of beneficiary farmer Shri Melon Munda, the event was led by Dr. Bendangla Imsong, CTO in Plant Breeding, with support from Ms. Marneni Divya Sree, SMS (Agriculture Extension), and Mr. Gulshan Kumar, SMS (Fruit Science).
        TS-38, a high-performing variety of toria, boasts key features such as 40-45% oil content, early maturity (120-130 days), a yield potential of 2-3 tons per hectare, disease resistance, and adaptability to diverse soils and climates. These traits make it an ideal choice for enhancing oilseed production, farmer profitability, and sustainable agriculture.
        Alltogether 20 farmers participated in the programme. Farmers at the event witnessed the crop’s exceptional performance and discussed its potential to transform oilseed farming in the region. Shri Melon Munda expressed confidence in TS-38’s ability to deliver higher returns. The field day emphasized the importance of adopting improved varieties and practices to boost agricultural productivity and profitability.
