A five-day “Module-II Training Programme for DR Assistants 2026 (recruited through the Reserve Panel of the Combined Assistant Grade Examination-2022)” began on 7 September 2026 at the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam. The programme is being organized from 7–11 September 2026 in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam, at the Dr. D. N. Borthakur Hall of the Institute.
        The training is designed to help the newly recruited DR Assistants strengthen their understanding of administrative and financial procedures and gain practical knowledge that will help them carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
        Shri Sachin Agnihotri, Director, ASRB, New Delhi, attended the inaugural programme as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, he encouraged them to make the training interactive by actively engaging with the resource persons, learning from their experiences and openly discussing the challenges and doubts they may face while working in their respective sections.
        Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director, ICAR RC NEH, highlighted the importance of having a positive and responsible approach while processing files. He noted that timely and proper file processing plays an important role in ensuring that official matters are completed smoothly and on time, thereby helping scientists access the necessary resources for their research activities without unnecessary delays. He also encouraged the participants to make the most of the knowledge and experience shared by the resource persons during the training.
        Dr. A. K. Mohanty, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam, stressed the importance of understanding rules and procedures for newly recruited assistants. He said that proper training would help them handle files with greater clarity and confidence and contribute to smooth file movement within the Institute. He further emphasized that continuous capacity building of administrative and financial staff is essential for the effective functioning of a research institution.
        Giving an overview of the programme, Shri Saroj K. Singh, CAO, ICAR-IARI, Assam, briefed the participants about the various sessions planned during the five-day training. The sessions cover important aspects of administrative and financial work required for the smooth day-to-day functioning of the Institute.
        The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Prashant Kumar, FAO, ICAR RC NEH, who expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, Directors, resource persons and participants for their presence and valuable contributions. The training programme will continue until 11 September 2026, with sessions focused on strengthening the practical knowledge and professional capabilities of the participating DR Assistants.
