The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on October 31, 2025, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The event highlighted the significance of unity, integrity, and national security as envisioned by Sardar Patel.
        Dr. S. Hazarika, Director, ICAR-NEH, Umiam, addressed the gathering and emphasized that the occasion serves as a reminder to reaffirm the nation’s inherent strength and resilience in the face of both existing and potential challenges to its unity and integrity. On the occasion, Dr. Hazarika also administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to all officers and staff members of the institute.
        As part of the celebration, a Unity Walk was organized within the institute premises, where the officers and staff participated with great enthusiasm, symbolizing collective strength and solidarity among colleagues.
