ICAR–KVK Anjaw Celebrates 98th Foundation Day of ICAR with Farmers

        ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Anjaw celebrated the 98th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on 16 July, 2026 at two places Hoiliang village and Khupa with the enthusiastic participation of 26 farmers all total and KVK staffs. The celebration highlighted the commendable contributions of ICAR in strengthening Indian agriculture and reiterated its commitment to building a resilient, sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector.
        The programme was held on the theme “Reflecting on 98 Years: Reimagining Agriculture for Viksit Bharat @2047”. At the event, KVK, scientists talked about what ICAR has done in the last 98 years in terms of agricultural research, education, and extension. They also talked about how to change Indian agriculture in the future through new ideas, climate resilience, protecting natural resources, digital technologies, and interventions that focus on farmers.
        Scientists of KVK Anjaw interacted with the farmers and emphasised on the importance of adoption of climate smart agriculture, efficient water management, improved varieties of crops, integrated farming system, mechanisation and value addition to enhance farm productivity and income in the hilly ecosystem of Anjaw district. The role of youth and women in creating agricultural entrepreneurship and sustainable rural development was particularly emphasised.
        The programme also brought forth the different technologies and extension activities carried out by ICAR–KVK Anjaw for improving the livelihood of the farmers of the district. The farmers shared their experience of adoption of improved agricultural methods and appreciated the continuous technical guidance and support being provided by KVK.
        The programme ended with the commitment of ICAR–KVK Anjaw to continue serving the farming community by providing research-based technologies, capacity building and extension services for sustainable agricultural development in the remote border district of Anjaw.
