The ICAR-Research Complex for North-Eastern Hills Region, Manipur Centre,
Lamphelpat, Imphal, organized a live telecast of the 23rd instalment release of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)
scheme at Conference Hall of Loktak Farmers Hostel today.
The event was graced by Shri Langpoklakpam Deben Singh
(General Secretary, BJP Manipur Pradesh) as the Chief Guest, Smt. Laishram Bobby Devi (Chairperson, Imphal West Zilla Parishad)
and Smt. Yumnam Hemabati Devi (District Agriculture Officer, Imphal West) attended as the Guests of Honour. Dr. Soibam Basanta Singh
(Head, ICAR Manipur Centre) presided over the function, while Dr. L. Kanta Singh (Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Imphal West) was also on the dais.
During the program, attendees watched the live broadcast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi releasing the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. Under this phase of the scheme, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is disbursing a total of ₹18,880 crore to over 9.44 crore beneficiaries. The PM-KISAN Yojana provides eligible farmers with financial support of ₹6,000 per year, distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000.
The event saw active participation from 306 farmers, farm women, and department stakeholders from various parts of the state. To support local cultivation, various agricultural inputs were also distributed to the participating farmers during the program.
