In a significant historical landmark achievement, ICAR Research Complex
for North East Hill Region signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three academic and research institutes of the state,
viz. Manipur University, Canchipur; Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Agricultural Sciences, (PDDUIAS), Utlou and South Asian Institute
of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Langjing Achouba on 20th February 2026. The MoU exchange programme was held at Loktak Farmers Hostel
of ICAR-RC for NEHR, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal. .

During the event, Prof. H. S. Shekhar Sharma, Director of the SAIRAM, emphasized that this MoU will
significantly expand research opportunities for students and strengthen capacity-building initiatives in the frontier areas of agricultural sciences.
Dr. RK. Imotomba Singh, Director, PDDUIAS stated that institute has enrolled vast students in different streams that requires quality education and
innovative research in the emerging cutting-edge science. Dr Ch. Basudha Devi, Head of ICAR Manipur Centre, stated that students and researchers will
benefit from existing agreement to conduct research work in agri and allied science at the Centre. She further noted that the institution facilitates
student guidance, professional training, and full access to advanced laboratory resources. Dr. Basudha further expressed that it is essential to periodically
review the progress and achievements of the MoU to maximize the benefits of this collaborative agreement.
