KVK Anjaw organized an on-farm trial on finger millet namkeen preparation
at Hoiliang village, with active participation of women SHG members from Hoiliang and Matengliang. The training was led by
Food and Nutrition Specialist Mrs. Pooja Singnale, who provided hands-on guidance on value addition techniques.
As finger millet is widely cultivated in the area but mostly consumed at
the household level due to lack of processing skills, the programme aimed to build capacity for income generation through
value addition. Participants were trained to prepare nutritious finger millet namkeen, highlighting its health benefits as
it is rich in calcium, protein, fibre, iron, and essential minerals.
