KVK Ri Bhoi under ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam organized farmers training on “Biofertiiser and biopesticides application for soil Health management” and four demonstrations on soil sample collection, Azolla use, biofertiliser application and biopesticide application on 3rd June 2026 as a part of national flagship programme "Khet Bachao Abhiyan"(Save the Farm Campaign) from 1-30th June 2026 emphasized on “Campaign Theme: “Healthy Soil – Healthy Crop – Prosperous Farmer”, with 81participants including 26 male and 55 female from 4 villages( Nongrim Jyrmie, Nartap, Umdamli and Umdihar) of Bhoirymbong block in Ri Bhoi district. Critical inputs like maize (Megha Maize-1), Rice (Megha SA2), Cucumber (Malini) Trichoderma, Azolla pinnata, Azotobacter and PSB were also distributed to farmers for demonstrations. The team led by Smt.Mousumi G. Das , SMS (Plant Protection) and Dr.Popiha Bordoloi, SMS(Soil Science) along with district official Shri Mightystar Lyngdoh, Deputy Project Director, ATMA ; Smt. Nikiru Lamrae, ADO, Umling C & R D Block.
