One day training programme on “Low cost feeding and early weaning of pigs for livelihood improvement of tribal farmers of Mizoram” under NABARD project

        The ICAR Mizoram Centre, Kolasib conducted One day training on “Low cost feeding and early weaning of pigs for livelihood improvement of tribal farmers of Mizoram” on 11th August, 2026. The programme was organized under NABARD project. The training was inaugurated by the HoRC, Dr. S. Doley, ICAR, Mizoram Centre, Kolasib. During the inauguration, Dr. S. Doley welcome all the participants and highlighted the Scenerio of pig farming in North East, India with special reference to Mizoram.
        A total of 35 farmers from Kolasib, Thingdawl, Kawnpui and Bairabi of Kolasib district participated in the training programme. Various topics were covered on low cost feeding of pigs, early weaning of piglets, health management for profitable pig farming, diseases of pig and their bio-security measures etc. Experts from ICAR Mizoram Centre Dr. Lalhruaipuii, Senior Scientist (Vety. Microbiology) and Dr. Blessa Sailo delivered lectures during the training programme.
