TShri Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, visited ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, on 25 July 2026 to review the ongoing research, developmental and extension activities. A combined interaction and review meeting was held with the scientists, administrative, and technical staff of ICAR RC NEH Region, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, and ICAR-NBPGR. During the meeting, Shri Tripathi interacted with the scientific, administrative, and finance staff and took stock of the various programmes and research initiatives being undertaken by the Institute. He appreciated the dedication and contributions of the staff towards strengthening agricultural research and technology development for the North Eastern Hill Region. Shri Tripathi inaugurated the Solar Biomass-Based Hybrid Dryer technology designed by the institute to provide an energy-efficient and sustainable solution for drying the agricultural produce, contributing to improved post-harvest management and value addition. He also visited the laboratories of the Institute and was briefed about the research activities being carried out across different disciplines. The visit reflects ICAR's continued commitment to advancing farmer-centric and sustainable agricultural development through science-led innovations for the benefit of the farming community.
