State Stakeholders’ Meeting on “Action Plan for Nagaland: Viksit Bharat Goal” organized during 29th June, 2026

        A stakeholder meeting was held at the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani on 29th June, 2026 to prepare Nagaland's Action Plan for Viksit Bharat-2047, with agriculture identified as the key driver of the state's future development.
        Minister for Water Resources and Horticulture, Government of Nagaland, Hon’ble Smt. Salhoutuonuo Kruse reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to farmer-centric agricultural transformation. Focus on identified priorities including enhancing agricultural productivity, natural resource conservation, agri-entrepreneurship and technology adoption.
        Dr. G. Kadirvel emphasized science-led planning, institutional collaboration and climate-smart agriculture for sustainable growth. Hon’ble Dr. B. P. Bhatt emphasized to capitalization on indigenous crops and resources, and assessment of medicinal use of traditional unique food available in this region.
        Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, called for greater coordination among government departments, research institutions and development agencies to translate the action plan into measurable outcomes that improve farmers' income, strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural growth.
        Director ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Director Agriculture GoN, Director of Horticulture GoN, Director of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, GoN, Joint Director Agriculture, GoN, Joint Director Horticulture, Dean CoVSc&AH, Jalukie, Heads of KVKs, Heads of various Departments, SAS-NU; Scientists, State officials, CTOs, SMS, and Technical officers actively participated in the meeting. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to develop a science-driven roadmap for strengthening agriculture, improving farmers' livelihoods and achieving the vision of Viksit Bhara by 2047.
