State-Level Workshop on Integrated Farming System Held in Agartala

        The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, along with its Krishi Vigyan Kendras—Krishi Vigyan Kendra West Tripura and Krishi Vigyan Kendra South Tripura—organized a One-Day State-Level Workshop on “Integrated Farming System for Sustainable Income, Nutritional Security and Climate Resilience in Tripura” at Pragna Bhavan on 2nd March, 2026.
        The workshop witnessed the participation of over 300 stakeholders, including more than 200 farmers, along with scientists, officials from line departments, financial institutions and FPO representatives.
        Shri Jitendra Majumder, Hon’ble MLA, attended as Chief Guest and emphasized soil health management, scientific land use planning and strengthening of FPOs for improved market access. Special guests highlighted the importance of climate-resilient agriculture, enterprise diversification and convergence of finance with scientific support to promote Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) in Tripura.
        Dr. B. U. Choudhury, Head of ICAR Tripura Centre, informed that more than 2,500 families in the state have already benefited from various IFS models. Improved seeds, farm implements and other agricultural inputs were distributed to farmers under NEH, TSP and SCSP programmes. An interactive Farmers–Scientist session provided practical, location-specific solutions.
        The workshop reaffirmed the collective commitment to scaling up Integrated Farming Systems to enhance farmers’ income, nutritional security and climate resilience in Tripura.
