Training on Rural Poultry Management conducted by the Division of Animal and Fisheries Sciences

        A three-days training program on Rural Poultry Management was successfully conducted from 21st to 23rd October 2025. The training was organized by the Division of Animal and Fisheries Sciences and funded by AICRP on Poultry Breeding to empower tribal farmers with practical knowledge and skills in poultry farming. A total of 20 tribal farmers from Ri Bhoi and East Khasi Hills districts actively participated in the training program. The training focused on both theoretical and practical aspects of rural poultry management, including: Poultry Housing, Feeding Management, Health Care and Biosecurity and Value Addition of Poultry Meat. On the concluding day 700 Vanaraja chicks, veterinary mineral and vitamin supplements and training certificates were distributed. Dr Sourabh Deori, Senior Scientist and Dr Rahul Katiyar, Scientist acted as Course Director for the training programme with active participation of Dr. P. R. Dutta, Dr Reema Shrestha, YP-II, Mr. H. Lyngdoh, YP-I and other staffs of the Poultry farm.
