Training programme on balanced use of fertilizers and Natural farming

        As a part of ongoing National wide Intensive Awareness campaign for adoption of science-based nutrients and other inputs management, a training programme on balanced use of fertilizers and Natural farming was organized at Hazadisa village in collaboration from ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dimapur and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Dhansiripar block, District Agriculture office (DAO), Chumoukedima. The programme created awareness among farmers on sustainable soil and nutrient management practices. The programme focused on promoting judicious fertilizer application and encouraging eco-friendly farming methods for improving soil health and crop productivity.
        During the programme, Dr. Bendangla Imsong, CTO (Plant Breeding, KVK Dimapur), highlighted the importance of balanced use of fertilizers for maintaining soil fertility, reducing input costs, and achieving sustainable agricultural production. She emphasized that excessive and imbalanced fertilizer use can adversely affect soil health and crop yield in the long run.
        E. Lireni Kikon, ACTO (Plant Protection, KVK Dimapur), spoke on the benefits of adopting integrated nutrient management practices, created awareness on green manure crops and Natural farming. She encouraged farmers to cultivate green manure crops to improve soil organic matter, enhance nutrient availability, and reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers.
        Vote of thanks was proposed by Livika Zhimo (Block Technology Manager), she thanked the resource persons and farmers for attending the programme. The programme witnessed active participation from 30 farmers of the village, who interacted with the resource persons and gained practical knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices.
