Training-cum-input distribution on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation organized by ICAR Nagaland Centre

        The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre successfully organized 3 days Training programme on “Oyster Mushroom Cultivation” during 24th – 26th February 2025, sponsored by AICRP Mushroom. Dr. Mathew S. Baite who served as the Organizing Secretary welcomed the participants and presented brief talk on spawn production, Oyster mushroom cultivation and management of common mushroom diseases. Dr. Aabon W. Yanthan highlighted the importance on mushroom processing and value additions.
        Altogether 34 trainees from Bungsang, Dimapur, Molvom, Seithekema and Sirhima attended the programme. Besides lectures, the participants were given hands-on training on spawn production as well as method of oyster mushroom cultivation. Critical inputs such as hand sprayer, spawn and PP bags were provided to all the trainees. The closing ceremony was graced by Dr. H. Kalita, Course Director and Head of Regional Centre, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre. He called upon the participants to start mushroom cultivation with full enthusiasm and practice whatever is learnt from the training. The programme ended with a vote of thanks, refreshments and photography.
